Maryland’s Market Continues to Top Records

Maryland has consistently achieved record-breaking sales on a monthly basis ever since adult-use legalization in July. The state's cannabis industry has undergone notable growth, with sales exceeding $90 million in both August and September. With social equity applicants on the verge of entering the market, Maryland total market sales numbers are only expected to continue to grow to well over $100 million per month. Currently, only those medical dispensary licenses who converted into adult-use are in operation and serving customers.

There remains a limited window of opportunity for social equity applicants to complete their verification process, with the portal closing on November 7, 2023. As this deadline approaches, we strongly encourage interested parties to promptly contact us for assistance. Social Equity applicants are categorized as businesses with a minimum of 65 percent ownership by individuals who have resided in a designated "disproportionately impacted area" for at least five of the past ten years. Additionally, they must have completed a minimum of five years of education at a public school within such an area or attended a four-year college in Maryland where at least 40 percent of the students are eligible for a federal Pell Grant to qualify.
