Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) Technical Bulletin Update

Today the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) issued an updated “Expectation for Maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures” Technical Bulletin to provide guidance and clarification on each licensee’s obligation to maintain written SOPs per Rule 6 of the CRA’s administrative rules.

Clearly written and updated SOPs are vital to ensure a compliant safe and sterile environment by documenting every day-to-day operational process. At a minimum each SOP should include:

  • Clear title that accurately describes the procedures.

  • Person(s) responsible for performing specific tasks by position or role.

  • Step by step instructions to complete a task.

  • Any controls to ensure activities are completed as written, including internal and/or third party audits.

All SOPs must be made available to the agency upon request, including during inspections. If any SOPs are found to be deficient, licensees may be required to immediately correct the process and update SOPs within (1) business day.

If you need assistance with drafting, editing, or correcting written SOPs, reach out to Global Go today to get started and meet all regulatory deadlines.
