Attention All California Cities!
As of January 1st, 2024, cities in the State of California are now required to provide mandatory access to cannabis for all medical cannabis patients and caregivers. Specifically, under SB 1186 (2022), all California local jurisdictions, whether County or Municipal, must now allow for the retail sale of medical cannabis via delivery within their jurisdiction’s limits.

Last week, the Department of Cannabis Control (“DCC”) and California Department of Tax & Fee Administration noticed proposed emergency regulations to govern California’s medical and adult use cannabis industry. The DCC also noticed further modifications to the proposed regulations concerning large cultivation licenses and the conversion to large and medium licenses.

Last Friday 11/11, the Department of Cannabis Control (“DCC”) adopted regulations to govern California’s medical and adult use cannabis industry. These regulations went into effect immediately so it’s imperative that licensees understand the updates, changes, and clarifications within these new set of rules.
